Last Spring, I was scrolling through Amazon. Online shopping is my weakness, but we will save that for another blog post. The book, Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks, grabbed my attention and so I dropped it into my cart. If you’re not a 60 year old woman trapped in a 17 year old’s body like me, you’ve probably never heard of it. If you have, can we be best friends?
This book introduced me to the ‘Law of Attraction’. To summarize, the ‘Law of Attraction’ basically states that what you think, you become. If you think and radiate positive and happy thoughts, you will receive positive experiences. On the other hand, if you send negative thoughts into the world, you will receive negative experiences. This book put into perspective how important it is to be kind to not only others, but to yourself. For example, if you want to start working out more but all you do is complain about how you’re not seeing results, you will never get the results you’re looking for.
“I really, really think the secret to being loved is to love. And the secret to being interesting is to be interested. And the secret to having a friend is being a friend.” -Unknown
The book often uses the word manifesting, which is new to me. Some people define it as “co-creating with the universe.” Basically, If you manifest your desires, you will receive them. Good grades? Better health? New job? If you believe it, you can achieve it. However, you need a clear path of what it is you want to manifest. If you don’t know exactly what it is you want, you can’t possibly create the steps to make it happen.
Hoop Beauty has been something I’ve been manifesting for a while now. I’ve always wanted to create my own company, and the fact that it’s finally happening makes me believe in manifestation and the ‘Law of Attraction’ even more.
If you have a desire that you strive to make a reality, follow these steps. You are probably closer than you may think.
Seven Steps to Manifesting
- Vision: Visualize what you want.
- Desire: Be intensely excited about what you are visualizing.
- Belief: Believe what you desire is possible to manifest.
- Acceptance: Accept your belief and your ability to manifest it as being true.
- Intend: Want and intend are different. You must have your intention to manifest your desire.
- Action: Act and behave like your desire has already been manifested.
- Allowance: Detach from the outcome. You have to be intense in your desire without any expectation that it manifest.
This book really brought clarity to a lot of what I had been thinking for so long, but hadn’t necessarily strung together. It also gave me that extra little boost I needed to believe that my dream could become a reality. Being an entrepreneur is one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, but at this point I am full steam ahead and enjoying all of the little successes along the way. Regardless of what transpires, I have already won.
